about

I think GI may have been the first DC punk band to play a huge benefit and get thrown out by stage security after their set-ha! That'll teach them for placing an orchestra pit in front of our stage. A killer gig with short-lived (he's still alive but left GI soon afterwards) young drummer Sean "Wright" Saley, Tom Lyle dressed as Pete Townsend, J. Robbins, and Stabb (drawing the audience out of their seats!) and needing a belt to hold up his purple velour women's pantsuit. Feel the punkrock!
--John Stabb

Before we went on, the stage manager told us all, not just John, to keep the audience in their seats and not to "incite" them -- as if we had the power to do this. As far as I could tell I didn't see many in the audience seated by the end of our set. The stage manager was not amused, so after we left the stage he attempted to eject us from the building along with as much gear as we could carry. The cranky old stage manager was very upset with us, we thought he was an idiot and the entire situation hilarious.
--Tom Lyle
